INTERNATIONAL
HIPPOCRATIC
FOUNDATION OF KOS
Founded in 1960 in honour of
Hippocrates, it stretches out on a
hillside of 380,000 square meters
and boasts panoramic views. The
site is full of precious plants and
herbs used by the ancient Greek
physician for their healing properties.
Each year the foundation organises
the Amphictyonies, a conference
aiming to strengthen relations
among various communities,
societies and universities. Ιδρύθηκε
το 1960 προς τιμήν του Ιπποκράτη
και απλώνεται σε μια πλαγιά
380.000 τετραγωνικών μέτρων
με πανοραμική θέα. Ο χώρος
είναι γεμάτος πολύτιμα φυτά και
βότανα που χρησιμοποιούσε ο
αρχαίος Έλληνας ιατρός για τις
θεραπευτικές τους ιδιότητες. Κάθε
χρόνο διοργανώνει τις Αμφικτυονίες,
με σκοπό να φέρει σε επαφή τους
διάφορους συλλόγους, εταιρείες
και πανεπιστήμια.

RHODES AQUARIUM
At the northernmost tip of Rhodes you
will find one of the most important marine
research centres in Greece. The building,
which combines nautical elements with
local and Art Deco architecture, houses
the aquarium, where you can admire the
most typical marine species of the Aegean.

decor gives the impression of an
underwater cave. Στο βορειότερο άκρο της
Ρόδου θα βρείτε ένα από τα σημαντικότερα
κέντρα θαλάσσιων ερευνών της χώρας.
Στο κτίριο, που συνδυάζει ναυτικά στοιχεία
με τοπική και Art Deco αρχιτεκτονική,
στεγάζεται και το ενυδρείο, όπου θα
θαυμάσετε τα πιο χαρακτηριστικά θαλάσσια
είδη του Αιγαίου. Καθώς βρίσκεται στο
υπόγειο, δημιουργεί την εντύπωση
υποθαλάσσιας σπηλιάς.
